25 Things to Pack for a Cruise
25 Things to Pack for a Cruise
Thinking about leaving Amazon Prime? No judgment here. Maybe you’re cutting back on expenses for 2026, or maybe you just realized you haven’t used two-day shipping in months.
Whatever your reason, the amazon prime cancellation process is surprisingly straightforward, even though they hide the button a little. Don’t worry — I’ll walk you through every single click. We’ll get this done in less than five minutes.
First things first, open up Amazon in your web browser on a computer. I find it’s way easier on the desktop site than fumbling through the mobile app.
In the top right corner, hover your mouse over the “Account & Lists” section. A big menu will drop down. Click on the “Account” option right at the top.
You’re now on your main account page, which can feel like a maze of boxes and links. It’s designed to be a little overwhelming, but we know where we’re going.
Look for a box labeled “Prime” (it usually has the Prime logo). Click right on that box to go to the main hub for your Prime membership.
Okay, here we are. On this page, Amazon will proudly display your renewal date and all the amazing benefits you’re about to give up. Stay focused!
On the right side of the screen, you should see a “Manage Membership” box. Click the “Update, cancel, and more” link inside it. This is the door you’re looking for.
This is where they make their last stand to keep you. You’ll see a big, bright yellow button to remind you of your benefits and a much smaller link at the bottom that says “End Membership.”
Click “End Membership.” Of course, it’s not over yet. They’ll show you one more screen. Scroll past all the pleading and click the final confirmation button, which will say something like “Cancel My Benefits.”
You’ll get a confirmation on the screen and in your email. That’s it! You’ve successfully completed your amazon prime cancellation.
Before you go, here are a couple of things to keep in mind to make sure you cancel your prime subscription without any headaches.
The trick nobody tells you: If you paid for an annual membership and haven’t used any Prime benefits yet, you’re almost certainly getting a full refund. Even if you’ve used it a little, you might get a partial refund for the unused time.
Amazon usually processes this automatically when you cancel, but keep an eye on your bank statement just in case.
Amazon will give you a choice: end your membership immediately (and get that potential refund) or let it run out on your next billing date. There’s no wrong answer here.
I usually let it run its course. You paid for the month, so you might as well use the free shipping until the very last day. Just make sure you follow all the steps to the final confirmation page.
This is the mistake I made the first time I tried to leave Amazon Prime. If you subscribe to any Prime Video Channels (like Paramount+, Starz, etc.) through Amazon, they will also get canceled when your Prime membership ends.
Make a quick list of any channels you want to keep and plan on subscribing to them directly through their own websites.
And that’s all there is to it. You did it! See? Way easier than it looks. You’ve successfully figured out how to cancel Amazon Prime.
The best part is, this isn’t a permanent breakup. If you get a sudden craving for same-day delivery on a random Tuesday in 2026, you can always sign back up in just a couple of clicks.
